Eight sectors. Onesizing engine.
Construction is where Sizr was built, and it is still where most of the work is. These are the other UK sectors that live on temporary power, and what changes about the sizing when you walk onto each one.
Construction
Most UK sites run on temporary power for months before a permanent supply is energised. Welfare cabins, tower cranes, hoists, task lighting and 110V tools all sit behind the same set, and they rarely peak politely one at a time.

Sizing on the sum of nameplate ratings buys a set that spends its life at 20 percent load, burning fuel and glazing bores. Sizr applies diversity and duty cycles instead.

Rail, highways and civils
Linear projects move. A rail possession, a highways contraflow or a bridge replacement puts a working compound somewhere with no supply at all, often for a single weekend, then does it again three miles down the track.

Because possessions are priced by the hour, an undersized set is not an inconvenience, it is a missed handback. Sizr shows the headroom it has left you and why.

Events and festivals
Event power is the most peaked load in the country. A field is empty on Wednesday, drawing hundreds of kVA across stages, traders, bars and broadcast by Friday night, then quiet again by Monday morning.

The overnight base load is where events waste the most fuel. Model it properly and a battery removes the need to idle a large set all night.

Data centres and critical load
Data centre programmes need temporary power at both ends: to build and commission the hall, and to bridge cooling, controls and critical load during upgrades or a delayed grid connection.

This sector buys certainty rather than kilovolt amperes. Sizr prints every assumption so the temporary arrangement can be reviewed and signed off.

Utilities and grid works
Water, wastewater, gas and electricity networks run temporary power whenever an asset is taken out of service. Pumps, blowers, dosing and telemetry still have to run while the substation or the pumping station is rebuilt.

Continuous duty at part load is where fuel spend hides. A 24 hour model, rather than a working day model, is the only honest way to price it.

Industrial shutdowns
Manufacturing turnarounds compress a year of maintenance into a fortnight. Temporary supplies keep welding, lifting, testing and site lighting running while the plant supply is isolated.

Shutdown power is planned weeks ahead and changed days ahead. Being able to resize in minutes is worth more here than anywhere else.

Film, TV and broadcast
Location work carries lighting, camera, hair and makeup, production offices and honey wagons into places with no supply, and the whole lot has to be inaudible on a boom mic.

Noise is the design constraint here, not capacity. Sizr models quiet hours against the real load so the battery is sized for the takes, not for a spreadsheet.

Modular and healthcare
Modular buildings arrive complete and are occupied immediately. Heating, ventilation, IT and medical equipment all come on load together, often well before a permanent connection is available.

Long hires reward accuracy. A single tier of oversizing carried for a year costs more than the whole sizing exercise ever will.

Not on the list
